Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength, Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment

Who knows what we’ve lost in the cause of war?
Music, art, novels, plays, poems, films and more.
Bach, DaVinci, Cassatt, Monet, fodder of kings,
Shakespeare, Elliott, Beethoven all gone missing.
Would we find saviors numbered with the dead?
No way we can know where they might have led.
Wars, equal-opportunity, high costs pecuniary,
saints, sinners, all ages, teachers, healers the fee.
Rippers, rapers, killers, despots, oligarchs as well,
may have died on war’s field, how could we tell?
Did we, do we even have choices in our fell deed,
driven by our planet’s imperative, balances need,
no longer do we exist without war’s roaring fire.
Would any time gained be worth our loss entire?
All our young women, men, seniors, children all,
our destiny forgotten; we’re defeated ere we fall.
