I went inside a McDonalds today
This something I almost never do
I only wanted a cup of coffee, hey
Confirmed something sad but true
Could’ve been any fast-food joint
Drive-through line long vs in short
That was why I chose it, the point
Folks working with little to report
Teens, middle managers to survive
While their chances remained slight
Some doing this simply to stay alive
What I saw says future is not bright
