People Over Politics, World Over Wealth!

Artists, writers, others
may bring us emotions
they felt but could only
express in a language
not yet understood and
perhaps never spoken.
Think Wolfe, Picasso,
Plath and so many you
and I have never known.
Or, at least, not today.
We may only hope
that someday we might.
Others, who’ve been lost.
Disease, war, famine, neglect.
If we act as one people
no longer lost to war,
famine, killed by hatred,
insanity, bigotry, misogyny,
stupidity and all the isms
you can cite or conceive.
Will such creators ever
be found, saved, honored?
Or will they be lost forever
for some distant future?
Time promises all will be
lost in our manifestations.
Though our essence will
continue in other guises.
As thoughts become words,
expressions, actions to
linger in ways unimagined.
Such ways may affect
only people close to us
in time and space or
in distant times, continuums,
unknown configurations.
It’s up to us to dig deeply
delve craftily into darkness.
Search within us. Light
our sacred fires to show
our depths, illuminate
our locked vaults and
hidden caverns we lost
track of in our youth until
we find what is us
and ours alone to share.
