Two Trains on a One-Track Mind ~ Philip Brent
Better get on board the train you’re taking, whether love or hate
It is only a short moment till boarding is done and you’re too late
On the same track, speeding away in order to escape those fools
Half-way round the world you’ll meet head-on; them’s the rules
If you switch the engine so you can speed backward on the run
Believe you’ve escaped those tools and dodged that loaded gun
You will only ever end up right back at the same place you started
Appearances aside, you’re on the same track and cannot be parted
Join the two trains together, two engines will have twice the push
Pick just one direction before you decide to speed off in a rush
Please don’t decide indecision will become our final, pitiful story
Let’s go out in a searing, blinding flash, or a future blaze of glory
