Once Known

Where do we find what we need?
The basics, not only food, clothing, shelter,
but also music, art, performance and
poetry. Also the grandeur of nature,
wherever and however it appears to us.
Beyond the ultimate basics,
keeping our bodies alive and replicating
our species, we require the awe
of creation which feeds our being.
This spark, which we recognize as us,
is only casually explored in any religion,
whether you argue or agree with me.
Such spiritual ritual and practice, for some,
keeps them awake, aware of their source.
It is one thing that may lead to revelation
beyond the mundane. Creation, whether
we actively participate, create or we observe,
comprehend, are moved, filled with wonder,
and awe. We experience the same
mystery and majesty of all existence,
whether vision, nature, the arts, or
whatever connects to the all, once
we have known it, we will never be the same,
even when no one else can see it.
