The Long View

Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,  Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment

We all think that we mean a lot.
History tells us the answer is not.
All of the names, cited in books,
future will give no second looks.
Burnt cinders, Sol’s nova flash,
nothing left to throw in the trash.

Scattered atoms will shift around,
to discover, in time, new ground.
Even if this doesn’t look like dirt
it will be made of us so stay alert.
Around we will go, another time,
I wonder if we’ll enjoy the climb?
