Yes, I know I’m the one who has been away, but it feels like the opposite. You will see no major changes to more format at present, but I will be changing my blog as I go along. Serials will return next week, but exclusively on the blog. Following, I want to introduce you to a form you may or may not be familiar with: Grooks. Gruk in the original Danish of Piet Hein. If you are not familiar with his work, I strongly encourage you to check it out. Archimedes Lab says:
A philosophy of a close link between the subjectivity of the fine arts and the objective world of science made Piet Hein (1905-1996) one of the most original Danes of the 20th century.
Hein, a scientist, poet, artist, philospher is the person that started us all saying: That which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger. Below the art, I will share four grooks by Piet Hein and two I have written recently.

Starshine ~ Philip Brent
Here is a fact
that should help you fight
a bit stronger
Things that don’t
actually kill you outright
make you stronger.
ON PROBLEMS
Our choicest plans
have fallen through,
our airiest castles
tumbled over,
because of lines
we neatly drew
and later neatly
stumbled over.
THE ROAD TO WISDOM
The road to wisdom?
— Well, it’s plain
and simple to express:
Err
and err
and err again
but less
and less
and less.
T. T.T
Put up in a place
where it’s easy to see
the cryptic admonishment
T. T. T.
When you feel how depressingly
slowly you climb,
it’s well to remember that
Things Take Time!
All by Piet Hein
My offering and homage.
Glowing Report
Our population’s ever growing
We are running out of room
Won’t matter if we’re glowing
When the world’s gone boom!
Our Estate
Each day we change in many ways, more than I can count
Lose skin cells, brain cells, eyesight dims; we gain weight
While ads tell us, seek the waters of youth, from a fount
Good stuff we’ll lose and bad stuff we’ll gain; it’s our estate
