Once I went away from home,
nothing was the same again.
Life and hope, loss and love. I
have known life and death in my
life, which told me I would know
sadness as well as joy. My dreams
would come. Some would go. I
would do things I never imagined
and never realize my grandest
plans. What would I find when I
ventured forth, brave beyond my
years and, perhaps, beyond good
sense? People I would love and
who would love me in return, no
matter how much I messed up or
when I did hard, hurtful things in
ignorance or because I felt hurt.
