Racing Away ~ Philip Brent Harris

Hear these steps of all soldiers
dancing a waltz, on the evening
before they are deployed. War
awaits them, with certainty and
horror; hiding the fear of death.
Keeping their fear ever to mind.

Until they almost wish for, hope
for, pray for it to prey upon them.
But another stately dance or wild
explosion: limbs, ideas, feelings.
Where their dance partner must
always lead. Leading them away
from the floor, the field, the hall.

Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,

Unite the World
