Center Out ~ Philip Brent Harris

Thinking fondly of home, in
all its incarnations, modalities
through spacetime only now.
Repeat, alternate within people.
Our lives and ourselves, you see.

You do see, or have you never
taken time to look, to explore;
reason, emotions, ramifications?
Conclusion, which may change.
Every step we take changes us.

Sometimes, we keep the changes.
Others, we step into the same or
similar steps, need crescendo,
and feelings fraught to imbibe,
imprint lessons we must learn.

Not an assignment, not really.
Merely lessons we set for us,
our brief spark of all creation.
We briefly believe, claim as
ours, though our soul lingers.

What circumstance makes us?
Makes us recall other times,
places? All ours, expressed
by us, as our own, though,
now, they are but a dream.
