Thoughts at a Concert

Driving Home ~ Philip Brent Harris

A clumsy rearrangement of the players.
A forgotten score, a shifting of brass.
To see that global warming can call forth
Both the ultimate disaster and salvation
A perspective I have never dreamed
So easy to see once shown, so hidden
By prophets and profits, disguising
What should be obvious, plain to all.

How has this been hidden from so many people?
That the desert heat, a city’s canyons can bring
Fourth the flavors of harmony or discord
Carry it through to grandeur and not dismay
Instruments unusual to the symphony stage
Not different to, from multiple cultures.
They blend as people and life should live.

Hold on! Horses gallop back and forth
Across the stage, musician to musician.
Creating a nourishing broth all may consume.
If only we will dismiss the self-appointed
Guards and watch dogs who have convinced us
They are essential; when nothing is further
From the truth, We sail together on a vast ocean,
Earth, our vessel which comprises us complete..

People Over Politics, World Over Wealth!
Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,
Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment
Unite the World!
