People Over Politics, World Over Wealth!

Duplicity ~ Philip Brent Harris

I don’t know what I’ll write.
And I don’t know who I’ll be.
Will it be right for a bee?
Words and sounds so heavy
And so playful, depending…

Words can play and
words can dance. They plan.
They sing and argue.
At times, they wound.
At times, they heal.
Sometimes, your heart
They’ll steal.
They can build walls
to hide behind
But also tear walls down.
They can convince you
of fantasy, fantastic
worlds and myths.
They tell bald-faced lies,
tell stories from whole cloth.
They piece together differences
and sometimes create a whole.
They may build strange amalgams
Like a Frankenstein’s monster.
Similar to reality
Without verisimilitude.

Sometimes, I’m capable
Of any or all of these.
Sometimes, I’m nearly mute.

I wonder who I am today?
