People Over Politics, Survival Over Surrender, World Over Wealth!

Sky Water ~ Philip Brent Harris

I’m trying to remember
how the rain felt, once,
jumping into puddles,
when I played younger.
Fat drops from the sky.
Drops I made in reply.

I don’t recall fear then.
Yet, I am afraid lately.
Did similar phantoms
fill my days, my sleep?
Do we start out brave,
to grow bold or timid?

No monsters troubled
me, other come to that.
I jumped when sense
warned I should wait.
My ears heard nothing.
Foolhardy; I survived.

It’s but life, even now.
No fear of what may be
Only what I might lose.
Life, love I enjoy now
but also my old dreams
cherished and guarded.

Will I follow my way
to say I will be or do,
be what I hold sacred?
Locked in a reliquary
in my mind, I believe
they’re holy, still fear.

They’ll crumble wholly
to dust, if I expose them
To air, to life, the world.
They and I, my inner self,
all I want will blow away
on the first gentle breeze.

Peace is Purpose,
Nonviolence is Strength,
Diversity is Unity,
Empathy is Empowerment

Unite the World!
