To watch the leaves floating down.
Something I remember from youth.
In the Midwest and the East, where
Season change in ways you notice.
Unlike the subtle thinning of veils
Between this one and the next one.
Ultimately comes to the same end.
Like the trees that shed their leaves
When we at last have shed out flesh
We ‘re living as the trees and death.
When a new season fosters growth,
Trees bud, blossom, leaf, seed, die.
We don new bodies, baby to adult.
Till the wheel of time spins a turn.
