By Your Choices
I grasp my time, my life, my being,
Like the blind men and the elephant.
What I perceive not what I’m seeing.
It may be my fire’s just on my pants.
Chasing after truth by concocting lies,
Mystic brews that obscure and reveal.
All my victories, failures and my tries,
Perchance to illuminate or to conceal.
Will I finally comprehend everything
After time has become much too late?
Fabled nirvanas or to hear angels sing,
Only then to fully understand my fate.
Might this be simply a limited preview,
Scenes showing me of what is to come?
Find I’m surprised to know what’s true.
How wrongly I acted; I’m struck dumb.
For who can ever fully know the future?
Except brief prescient glimpses viewed.
Simply live, do not worry life is torture.
Life’s flavor, by your choices is imbued.
