Learning Curve

We’ve waited so long to fix the world
It’s now chaos, nothing but confusion.
And, I’m talking about infrastructure,
new rides, smooth rides, making sure
water’s clean, not mixed with sewage.
I cringe to believe we think we’ll fix
damage we’ve done, speeding cycles,
cold and heat, our planet undergoes.
I marvel, we think we’ll live forever,
despite vast evidence says it isn’t so.
Perhaps, just perhaps we’ll preserve
our race, in racing our learning curve.
Chances are, we’ll adapt and change,
to exist underground or out in space.
We cannot yet. unless some are silent.
