Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,  Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment.

Men,
you, who think
you rule the world
and, anything, anyone
is yours for the taking.
Convinced it is
your right you call it
your destiny,
manifest or personal,
you stride forth.

Step back.
See your heavy
footsteps, boot-prints
across the land,
the furrows, scars
you have left
in the ocean.
Faces and faces
destroyed because
you saw them as weak,
too fragile to withstand
your onslaught.

Step away
from your anger,
your pride, which
drives your aggression.
Turn aside, into
into path you have
never explored.
Heavy with beauty,
in the trees, grasses
and flowers, which
spread across meadows,
their blooms more
numerous than all the stars
in the sky.
You have passed
through such vistas
but never saw them.

Turn back

Retrace your path,
erase the callous, unthinking
destruction, desecration
of your passage.
Think deeply,
but more than that,
feel. Explore the shell,
the shield of  your anger.
Put into the fire
until it’s malleable
and turn it outside in.
Discover pain, sorrow
and, understanding your actions
must lead you to claim your
