Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength, Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment

What’s a person to do,
when every day
there’s something new?
War and violence,
feeling blue,
so what’s a person
supposed to do?
Rich fools spout madness,
though many may agree
guns for all;
that’s best, don’t you see?
Braggarts and bullies,
full of intolerance, misogyny,
would burn the world,
cackle in their glee.
All the love we have,
all the love we hold
feels meager set against
the insanity we face.
Rain drenched, feeling cold,
my clothes made of lace,
I try to change the world.
Everyone laughs at me;
I must be simple,
not right in my head.
I see no dichotomy.
Keep going as we are,
Listening to what
rich men have said,
Earth will carry on,
but people end up dead.
