‘Tis a gift to be simple and uncomplicated,
no bartered existence to prove we’re alive.
Sit silently, existence within contemplated,
no more true separation than bee and hive.
Appearances deceive, all grand illusion.
Alone, same centers, edges and middles.
It is rapid, intricate; we live in confusion,
while the chorus relaxes, sings and fiddles
Don’t yell fire, it goes counter to the grain;
might save a life or two, our pattern riven.
Save the edifice, but not the people; insane,
bright brick, washed windows, unforgiven.
If you would think to change, do so silently;
no loud or angry outbursts, posts or tweets.
Nobody’s vaguely invested in your insanity,
now you are homeless and live in the streets.
