What’s a person to do?
When every day
there’s something new,
war and violence,
feeling blue.
So, what’s a person
supposed to do?
Rich fools spout madness,
though some agree,
guns for all,
that’s best. Don’t you see?
Braggarts and bullies
full of intolerance, misogyny.
All the love you have,
all the love you hold,
feels meager set against
the insanity you face.
Rain drenched, feeling cold,
I try to change the world;
everyone laughs at me.
All so simple,
in my head,
no dichotomy.
Keep going as we are,
we all end up dead.
