A Wink and a Sayer

Sometimes I write poetry
When I’m lying fast asleep
It doesn’t seem fair to me
These words I cannot keep

Yet, since I don’t remember
May not be good as I think
Dream mind is more limber
Say I’m brilliant with a wink

Will it matter, I must wonder
As even words I write awake
Lucky to get a simple ponder
What difference can it make
