When simple tasks in life become challenges
Putting on a pair of socks, getting out of a car
Please don’t worry or into depression plunge
Acknowledge that in life, this is where you are
It might result from age, chronic pain, illness
Doesn’t speak of who you are, just limitations
Choose always to try to do your best, no less
You know one alternative is complete cessation
Live fully, if that seems right, greet the rising sun
It is not too late to learn or to try something new
Challenges inherent may make it seem not too fun
Beats eyeing the same four walls, a dismal view
Others may not understand, even ones who love you
May see what drives you, moves you as a pastime
They may be right, it just gives you something to do
It fills your time, your life, even this simple rhyme
