Here’s hoping life shows you
the chances you would notice
and you are awake enough to
consider them, seize the ones
right for you. The world is full
of infinite possibilities, and it’s
just predicated by our choices,
offered and made, the effort we
invest into future consequence.
Must I feel sad I waited longer
than I could have to grasp for
the fabled brass ring? Not too
long, perhaps. The world goes
on turning; my chances do not
end till my final note has been
played. While I stayed within
my lane for a seeming eternity.
This time. I did not change my
beast upon life’s carousel. This
may not matter. Maybe afraid
I would fall and fail. Though
I am unsure now why. Which
doesn’t matter in the length of
an existence that feels eternal.
Though it‘s true, some future
moment, I’m unlikely to recall
this moment, or any or all of
the ones which came before.
No matter in which existence.
