Lost in Thought ~ Philip Brent Harris

Cars flood the city streets. Stopping
going, turning, honking. A vast
confluence flows backwards, seeking
sources for another day. Knowing
they will flow back again. Until the
flood of people crests, flows and
eddies strange but known patterns.
Sometimes disrupted by the unusual,
like a tree falling into the stream,
slowing all beyond. Only our need
to move dictates response. With some
change so extreme none can predict how
this moment changes every moment that
comes after in ways fraught with danger,
filled with joy. Only far future day may
reveal what we feel and felt; what lingers
