Remember me, so I can know myself.
Talk about me, so I’ll always remain.
Tell me of the person who you knew.
Both what you loved and what hated.

In the best loves, storybook romances
There are things which make us crazy.
If they, we linger a long time together
Minor annoyances may become major.

How we react is always more telling
Than what we are reacting to may be.
Here, Newton’s law is true and false,
Think of Schrodinger’s fabled feline.

If cabinet doors are always left open
Equal and opposite only shuts them.
Always, can push emotional reaction
Ever too far to be equal and opposite

If we survive, thrive, oh the rewards.
A love who knows us and defines us.
In the same way that we define them
So our parts fit together like a puzzle.

And though, at the end, we may part
Whether by death or a missing piece.
As long as one memory of us lingers
Our life and history remain, so do we.

If I’ve forgotten, no longer know you
Remember me, so I can know myself.
Tell me of the person who you knew.
Both what you loved and what hated.
