Death comes to us all.
Death comes for us all.
The first early or late or
Somewhere in between.
It seems to visit more as
We age into silver years.

The latter always comes
When and where it will.
At times, our choosing.
We are taught to fear it
As its after is unknown.
This is true each second.

We pretend we know
What our future holds.
We may be correct or
We may not. Depends
On temporal continuity,
That may be a figment.

Our figments make our
Great art and literature.
Also, make the mediocre.
Figments move science
But also greed and war.
All base and basic deeds

Who am I to say it’s so?
I’m but another figment
Created by hope and sex.
I create my own figments
Attempting to understand
Myself and your figments.

Despite what others say,
Preach and profess most
Fervently, I may, may not
Ever know if I grow wise,
 Am merely frightened by
A figment of imagination.

Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment
