Experimenting with a form called Trenta-Sei
Do we really understand a single thing
Beyond our own tiny slice of the world?
Judging another’s life, we sneer or sing.
You’d think we would be fetally curled?
Most lives are merely bluster, pretense,
As we glory in folly at our own expense.
Beyond our own tiny slice of the world,
There must be something we agree on.
Since we are, all of us equally whorled.
Accept it can’t matter who lost or won.
We sow seeds so we can eat and grow.
Seeds eat us when we’re six feet below.
Judging another’s life, we sneer or sing.
Decide our faith or skin make us better.
Yet if you are born in Winter or Spring,
Will not make fire hotter, water wetter.
So, when our end comes, early or late,
We’ll really all be just so much freight.
You’d think we would be fetally curled,
Tucked in the corner, cowering in fear.
Worm food, if our flag waved or furled.
We are nothing special just being here.
Some names remembered, others not.
When our body is done, know it’ll rot.
Most lives are merely bluster, pretense,
Living in the fear we will be discovered.
We pretend it’s about dollars and cents.
We begin and end life totally uncovered.
If it’s skin or clothes, it’s the same way.
Cannot change it however loud we bray.
As we glory in folly at our own expense,
Timesaving tech makes our life complex,
It dumbs us down, steals common sense,
Till our only actions are a matter of reflex.
Bigotry and buzzwords flood our lexicon,
While, by those in power, we’re spat upon

Peace is Purpose,
Nonviolence is Strength,
Diversity is Unity,
Empathy is Empowerment
Unite the World!
