Escape Velocity

When I set out to find my fortune,
who knew I would land so far from home?
Home a moving target while growing up.
Though I understand it is not a place
but a feeling which summons us and
holds us together, yet, seeking escape velocity,
While remaining always together to
Those who love us those we love.
Such people push us to find power.
A fire within that helps us break out.
A gravity which keeps us connected,
So we are orbiting in a higher plane.
