In the Meantime

Lion in Earnest ~ Philip Brent Harris
~~~~~
I will write you a masterful painting;
And paint you a most intriguing story.
I will crawl till I walk, walk till I run.
Yet, at times, I can’t what it’s for see.
How could I know; where could I go?
I have so little to be where I’ve been.
When I think I know, learn it ain’t so;
In the meantime, I guess I’ll pretend.
I think more pretend than would say.
Fake it till you make it I’ve been told.
I tried it with this and tried with that;
Oft time, I’ve thought I should fold.
You never draw to an inside straight,
Hold the cards close, your look cool.
Sometimes a bluff will payoff great.
Many times you will finish the fool.
A fool is not bad, lest you’re poor.
Down on your luck, roll the bones.
Any pip you see may presage a win.
Yet, you might take out new loans.
It’s not only money you bet, I say;
Ideas and feelings can be gambled.
Horded, you can’t give them away.
Is what I have learned as I rambled.
I read somewhere “face it till you make it” and that’s my new motto 💪
I like that. Maybe I would say face it or replace it.
