Why Wait?

Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength,  Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment.

~~~~~

Please, tell me how long we must wait.
Will we ever know if we’re out of date,
and wonder if we’re quick or are late?
Will we even perceive our own estate?

Do you know how we can fall in love?
Will it fall on us, a meteor from above?
Do we slip it on like a hand in a glove?
Can it last in our daily push and shove?

Must we stretch it out, so that it’ll fit?
Should we stretch ourselves, is that it?
Is love for everyone, a gift some get?
Will it matter if slow or quick of wit?

All I’ve heard tells me that it’s great.
It will both fill and clean your plate,
if you find it early or you find it late.
I see no reason why we should wait.
