Ask, Listen, Care, Touch

Listen to the man who loves history.
Ask him why he studies the our past.
Listen to women caring for children,
wonder how long this world will last.
I try to find answers in thick tomes,
fact or fiction or on my tiny screen
I can learn all available knowledge
and lose every human connection.
The fact electrons travel in space
to teach us of the vagaries in time.
If we’re unable, unwilling to touch
It won’t matter if free verse, rhyme.
Watch children manipulate parents
and other adults when out in public.
They probably can’t do this at home.
Helps to know you have an audience
