The birds sail along the shore as
waves lap gently upon the sand.
Laughing children play along the
strand, run shrieking, at the chill
waters creeping inexorably closer.
Each splashing breaker growing
higher, nearly imperceptibly, until
suddenly they are swells, crashing
upon the sand, and even the fisher
folk pull back their rods, reset their
lines. Much like we live daily life.
It’s a game of making adjustments.
