People Over Politics, World Over Wealth

Stepping Out ~ Philip Brent Harris
~~~~~
Softly, step forth into the morning.
Each rise a new expression of beauty,
a new chance to decide how we will
live our lives. We tend to go on as if
nothing changed, when we are new
beings. When second-to-second, we
may find a long-sought answer or an
unexpected insight. All within sight of
the life we have led so far. Though
now, we will take a new, perhaps more
consequential direction. Were we always
seeking this way, or will it catch us
completely by surprise? Will we have to
clear away the weeds and life’s detritus
to discover this path which leads to an
unknown destination. Our companions
may come along or leave us to walk
this new road alone. Who will we meet
and what will they have to say to us?
Will they offer help? Are these people
the same, perceived through in another
context. Such paths may lead us to glory,
destruction, or simply a new view, a new
understanding of who, what and where
we are at this moment. Already gone.
