People Over Politics, World Over Wealth

I have felt the darkness come. I’ve
seen the stars wink out one by one.
Not the thousands we can see, but
the million billion contained in the
million billion galaxies. So vast our
cosmos, it beggars description, let
alone any concept of true understanding.
Could we use such cosmology to explain
the purchase of a housewife at their local
Walmart box store? I doubt if you could
begin to tell me how our universe works.
I mean all the particulars, not the vast
overarching concepts. Except we might
need to explain why a butterfly alights
upon a particular flower, and what chaos
that might impart, that would cause a
megalomaniac to go to war, unconcerned
with anyone who might be killed. Believing
theirs is the only right way to express
the world and that only they really exist.
