Haplessly, helplessly, I sit
and ponder my existence,
like watching a traffic light,
waiting for it to change,
giving me permission to go.
Yet, only I am stopping myself.
Such is life. We may follow rules
or ignore them. But we control
our own actions. Not only this. but
how we approach the day, decide
what, if anything, we have to say?
And if we’ll speak? Will we act or
will we wait? And what are
the consequences either way?
