The birds sing, proclaiming the morning’s glory
as the sun rise paints the world in bright colors.
They break our fast sans light. They call the end
of night. Who’s to say if they have not seen?
The magic, mystery of the miraculous dawn
and its cousin the sunset, much more likely
to’ve been seen by many people. Over oceans,
mountains and plains, gilding rivers, reflecting
from the glass of mankind’s folly our belief
we are somehow special I, like most,
Hold this secret deep inside.
