Listen the earth, the wind,
the rain. Bow down before
the fire and the flood. Learn
to control nature for as long
as it lets you be in charge.
Ultimately, we always lose
when the Earth places itself
in front of our weak attempts
to be the master of more than
our due. Will we try to control
the stars, mine gas from the
clouds of Jupiter and Saturn?
Will we go to other galaxies,
our hubris worn proudly like
war medals for bravery. Where,
the medals for the foolishness
the barbarity of war? Will we
need such tokens to show we
have, at last, found peace?
