Selling the Past as the Future ~ Philip Brent Harris

The body of the cosmos pirouettes.
Do you feel dizzy or nauseated?
You’ll never know the reason why,
but many will posit theories, make
guesses, proclaim pronouncements.
There’s always someone who is sure
they know the answer, even when
they have no clue as to the question.
Might I make an erstwhile suggestion?
The more someone knows, the less they
will say, which you’ve heard before,
but the opposite is also true. And you
must shut the door as you would with
a pushy salesperson or sleazy grifter.
You know the type I mean, right?
We have one leading our nation. Oh,
if only enough people will ignore. him.
We can only do what we can do.
We must try to do more and hope we
find the reserves we believe exhausted.
