Birds sing within the bog,
malodorous fen. Telling us
that decay is joyful, that it
leads to life. Water gurgles,
warbles, chuckles, trills and
welcomes us. The bark of a
fox, and the squeaks of mice
speaking their own tongues.
All creatures, titans to tinies
hear the bird ballads, happy
honks of geese gracing the
sky. A celebration of dawn,
sweet prayer to bring down
the night. Only some know
what’s being said, stories
of fear, joy, reverence for a
all our glorious new days.
