The birds rise up and circle overhead.
A moment, strangely silent, unnerving
you, as you wait, finally hear a note, a
a shriek, a squawk, mad chattering. So
loud, you convince yourself it was not
ever silent. You walk on, hear a violin
playing in the city square. Where is it?
You don’t see the violinist in the crowd.
Is this a scheduled or impromptu show,
one person before an open violin case?
You are charmed, close your eyes, listen.
