Tell me, please, why are the bells ringing?
Is it a time of joy that sets people singing?
A time of sadness where many moan, cry?
The bells are ringing. Please, tell me why.

I hurry toward the knell tolled as if I know,
while my heart feels only fear. Should I go?
If you must ask, I would tell you chance it.
If you do, will you diminish or enhance it?

Hear the bells, though they’ve fallen silent.
Not required, We grow ignorant and pliant.
No bells or whistles needed for our tricks.
Like, spout inanity and make more clicks.
