What is your role this roll of liar’s dice?

                    Is it an actor’s nightmare if you’re a baker?

Each step upon the stage happens twice.

                 For each part, you are a giver and a taker.

The sand grains dig deep and dent me

               as I stretch full-length upon the strand.

They stick until I dip them into the sea.

                Unless, fearful, I remain upon the land.

A cheap lesson for our lives, we can choose

               There’s more than gravity that holds us,

keeps us captive, when it’s choice we refuse

              In life, what we keep or shed is up to us.
