Where Air Becomes Breath ~ Philip Brent Harris

Do we even comprehend
that we’re in a closed loop?
Like our vascular system.
The entanglement of
quantum physics ions.
As long as connected
each thing reflects the other
and is reflected in turn.
Health and harmony exist.
As true on the cosmic scale,
as in our physical being.
All our myriad relations
with each other and the world.
When our arteries flow freely
We are unaware of them.
When they clog (we clog them)
their flow is inhibited or
it leads to ruptures in the loop.
How many ruptures, blockages
can Earth’s biosphere handle.
When things work in tandem,
predator, prey, growth and decay
balance ensures proper function.
Like our bodies perform at
optimal levels when balanced.
Overload them with disease,
stress and strain, our bodies fight.
Is Earth too large to contemplate?
A teensy speck in cosmic terms.
We are cancer cells, multiplying
beyond hope of simple solutions.
Our planet’s fever, climate change,
which we caused by our excesses.
As our bodies battle disease
trying to restore health, recovery,
Earth struggles to survive and recoup.
