Lotus grows from dirty, muddy water,
So beauty arises from something unclean.
It self-propagates along the eight-fold path.
But what does it mean for the world today?
It’s lovely and may mean many things we need.
Love and longing within the seed, is the son,
Traditional and not the Christian avatar.
Add all the flowers, trees, fish, insects,
Birds, grass and all, including mammals.
Stones, dirt, metal, gems and fiery magma.
Stars, planets, galaxies, and space itself.
All these have meaning on their own.
Require nothing from us but respect.
They have survived sin long before we came
And will do so, I believe, long after we’re gone.
