Lies and Truth

Lies and Truth

Seti ~ Philip Brent Harris

What ways we wander, wonder why. Search, seek twisted trails, tall tales.
While we follow fools, venal villains, meaning morsels, broken breadcrumbs.
Lost, languishing, mired meanders, wide walkways, paved pathways, rural roads,
Long lanes, dusty drives, graveled grades, sleek superhighways, cacophonous cities

Electronic expressways lead, lure to tips, digital dead-ends, while we explore escape.
Terrified, targeted, will we survive somehow, buffaloed by trying times, failing physiques?
Always advertising, pushing pills, waiting within nonstop news, constant coercion,
Continuous calamity,  depressing disasters, dangerous decisions, played-down pandemic.

Health, happiness, hearth, home still sacrificed, government graft. dithering, delaying.
Dastardly deniers, know nothings, blatant bigots, mad misogynists, pusillanimous politicians.
Lying leaders, libertine lobbyists, gratuitously greedy constantly craving more money.
Blaggards, backstabbers doubtlessly desiring personal profit, fund friends, putrid profiteers.

Power players slyly spouting self-serving soliloquies pretend patriotism, personify paranoia,
Cry, claim enemies, evil, terminal terrorism, boast belief, usually utter obvious obscenities.
These truths they teach but barefaced, lazy lies, rationalized reality, without wonder,
Nothing natural, terrible tyrants fully funding massive military, bombs, bullets, mass murder.

Police, prejudice, viciously violent, forever fostering brown, black civilian casualties.
Wanton waste, vulgar vanity endlessly expressed, brittle, baseless execrable excesses.
Sanctimonious sinners, spuriously support, wage war often on poor, pitiful hapless humanity.
Battered, beleaguered, neglected neighborhoods blood-bathed, death-defined hearth, home.

Vile, vicious faults, foibles, vapid, vaped, querulous questions ignominiously ignored.
Guns, gangs, war wreckage, discriminant invasions, innocents incarcerated, domestic damage.
Positive proof means more, offsetting our pandering priests, pernicious pastors, militant mullahs.
Lamentably lost glorious galaxies, shining stars, peopled planets, love, laughter, possible peace.

Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength, Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment
