Peace is Purpose, Nonviolence is Strength, Diversity is Unity, Empathy is Empowerment

When life is hard, we’re all still together.
When we choose to be; when we gather.
So many things in life in need of repair;
Sure no one can help us, or so we swear.

Under the stress, strain, the world glows
If we take the time to see, our life grows
Some act as shills to our political grifters
Others fear we will all end up as drifters

Either way, we are begging at a rich door,
Tossing out scraps to the homeless, poor.
Do we not notice how the rich control us;
Deem us feckless and futile; it’s all bogus.

The money they steal to fight far-off wars,
It’s money we earned yet they want more.
There’s plenty to help each live a good life
Without costly, wicked toys making strife.

Let us live for a season two without battle.
No war-weapons fired, not a saber rattle.
With a good education and plenty of food,
We might begin to make all our lives good.
