Saw a movie about people
who acted bravely in the face
of hatred and bigotry
they could not understand.
But what is there to know
about bigotry and hatred?
It stays the same year to year.
When I give my answer,
some of you will sneer,
repeat pundits, bloviated.
I say hatred, bigotry are motived
by fear; to that, I will adhere.
If people call you inferior;
it’s from terror in their interior.
Though there is real fear;
it doesn’t matter, far or near,
natural or manmade, is that clear?
Fire, flood, earthquake, get it in gear.
But hating other people, why?
Oh yeah, like I said, it’s fear.
