Ancient Wisdom ~ Philip Brent Harris

When children regard war and terror as normal,
films, television, video games just the siren’s call.
Can we wonder how fucked-up life has become;
reality a child dismembered by a roadside bomb?

So grab your toys, run away, find a place to hide,
no help, as down the razor-blade of life we slide.
Our mad machines, money, war, too big to avoid.
Your only salvation is put your brain into a droid.

Unexpected wisdom written on some toilet stall;
who knows who sat and wrote on that metal wall.
The message read: It is not a sign of health to be
well-adjusted to this, our profoundly sick society.
