Saw a movie about people
Who acted bravely in the face
Of hatred and bigotry.
They could not understand.
But what is there to know
About bigotry and hatred?
It stays the same year to year
When I give my answer,
Some of you will sneer
Repeat pundits who’re bloviated
I say hatred, bigotry are motivated
By fear; to that I will adhere
If people call you inferior
It’s from terror in their interior.
Though there is real fear.
It doesn’t matter, far or near,
Natural or man-made, is that clear?
Fire, flood, earthquake, get it in gear,
But hating other people, why?
Oh yeah, like I said, it’s fear.
