We’re spending money like we’ve got it
and fortunately for us, for now, we do.
Our government, creditors don’t give a shit.
Nor does death when our time comes due.

It makes no difference where we start,
How high we fly or how low we fall.
We each, all play such a temporary part,
end the same when we hear our final call

You think you’re special, but it’s crap,
silver spoons and ruthlessness don’t last.
Privilege without compassion is a trap.
Scattered to star stuff, be it slow or fast.

Now, you imagine yourself upon the top,
though the next one up will push you off.
The higher you climb, the longer the drop.
Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, cough, cough.
